Summer. Free time… And holidays!!! This year I had absolutely nothing to do in August, so I decided to spoil myself with a little trip to that stunning island called Ireland. It was a five days trip (last one is not included here as it was the day I left), but I took so many pictures I will have to split it into two posts. In case any of you want to do something similar, this is the route I followed:
Verano. Tiempo libre… ¡¡¡Y vacaciones!!! Este año no tenía absolutamente nada que hacer en agosto, así que decidí darme un capricho con un pequeño viaje a esa maravillosa isla llamada Irlanda. Fue un viaje de cinco días (el último no está incluido aquí ya que fue el día que me fui), pero tomé tantas fotos que tendré que dividirlo en dos entradas. En caso de que alguno de vosotros quiera hacer algo similar, ésta es la ruta que seguí:
Day 1 / Día 1
The night before we drove from Dublin to Belfast, taking advantage of the quietness of the night as I am not an expert left-side driver. With the new day we moved toward the very north of Northern Ireland, to the surroundings of Ballintoy (Co. Antrim) to enjoy the views from a crag people access through the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge.
La noche anterior conducimos de Dublín a Belfast, aprovechando la quietud de la noche ya que no soy una experta conductora del lado izquierdo. Con el nuevo día nos movimos hacia el norte de Irlanda del Norte, a las cercanías de Ballintoy (condado de Antrim) para disfrutar de las vistas desde un peñón al que la gente accede a través del puente de cuerda de Carrick-A-Rede.
After that, we headed to the Giant’s Causeway, a breathtaking place, full of peace and Irish magic. Gotta say both places are absolutely beautiful and astounding; it is so lovely up there, I would say this is a must to see if you are visiting Northern Ireland.
Después de eso, nos dirigimos a la Calzada del Gigante, un lugar que quita la respiración, lleno de paz y de magia irlandesa. Tengo que decir que ambos sitios son absolutamente bellos y asombrosos; es tan hermoso allí arriba, que diría que esto hay que verlo si estáis visitando Irlanda del Norte.
Having Ireland so many B&B’s, we didn’t book anything, yep, adventure time! 😉 The only little tinny really small problem we had was that it was bank holiday in Ireland and many places were already fully book, but we always found nice places where we could spent the night. After so much walk, we drove to Donegal (Co. Donegal). My friend D slept like a log and me, even though I had to discover by myself that D’s snores are like peals of thunder (something that he «forgot» to commentate), also managed to have a good sleep.
Teniendo Irlanda tantos Bed & Breakfast*, no reservamos nada, sep, ¡hora de aventuras! 😉 El único pequeño minúsculo realmente diminuto problema que tuvimos fue que era puente en Irlanda y muchos lugares estaban ya completos, pero siempre encontramos sitios agradables donde pudimos pasar la noche. Después de tanto caminar, condujimos a Donegal (Condado de Donegal). Mi amigo D durmió como un tronco y yo, a pesar de que tuve que descubrir por mí misma que los ronquidos de D son como truenos (algo que a él se le «olvidó» comentar), también logré dormir bien.
*Para los que no estéis familiarizados con este palabro, hace referencia a casas particulares que hacen de establecimientos hoteleros y que ofrecen cama y desayuno.
Day 2 / Día 2
We visited Sligo (Co. Sligo), a charm little town, where we had lunch.
Visitamos Sligo (Condado de Sligo), una pequeña ciudad encantadora, donde almorzamos.
We stopped in Ballycastle (Co. Mayo) on the way to Connemara and, if it happens that you get to pass through this village on your journey, please do not miss Mary’s Cottage Kitchen, where the most enchanting and pleasant women will attend you, plus the food is homemade.
Paramos en Ballycastle (Condado de Mayo) de camino a Connemara y, si sucede que pasáis por este pueblo en vuestro viaje, por favor no os perdáis Mary’s Cottage Kitchen (restaurante), donde las mujeres más encantadoras y agradables os atenderán, además de que la comida es casera.
Dinner was in Killala, a nearby village, as there was nothing open in Ballycastle at that time. We went to The Open Door and, I don’t know if it is this part of the country, but food here was also delicious and the people were incredibly enchanting.
La cena fue en Killala, un pueblo cercano, ya que no había nada abierto en Ballycastle a esa hora. Fuimos a The Open Door y, no sé si es esta parte del país, pero la comida aquí también fue deliciosa y la gente era increíblemente agradable.
